5 recommendations to give an autumn touch to your interiors

Autumn has come, the most romantic, cosy season, rich of colours… So why don’t we get inspired by it, bringing it inside our house? Here are some recommendations!

FIRST RULE: USE THE COLOURS OF THE EARTH

When thinking of this season, the colours of the earth, of the trees leaves which change their look, of fruit and vegetables come to our mind: pumpkins and chestnuts for instance! So choose nuances from brown to orange, same as the colours of the landscapes and nature around you.

SECONDA REGOLA: I TESSILI

In order to create a cosy and warm atmosphere it is fundamental to choose warmer fabrics than the light ones typical of Summer. Put an open weave cotton plaid on your sofa: it will be useful for the evenings you will spend watching a movie and for providing that special warm touch of colour. Besides the ones mentioned above, also light grey colour is perfect. As for materials, don’t disregard velvet! Another simple yet very effective thing to do for changing your interior is choosing the covers of the cushions on your sofa; change them in Autumn and your room will change, too.

Another necessary element is a medium-deep pile carpet: it will quickly warm your room and walking barefoot will be as pleasant as it was a few weeks ago!

THIRD RULE: OBJECTS

You can give your house a September touch also by decorating your table. Use raffia place mats or runners and add a centerpiece with seasonal fruit: grapefruit is perfect, add some leaves and the game is done. Other necessary objects in Autumn are candles. As for colours and fragrances, the same rules are valid!

FOURTH RULE: DARE WITH YOUR WALLS

If you love the typical colours of this season you can also take a more permanent decision: why not providing the walls of your room with character? You can characterise one or more walls in your room using Autumn palette. You’d better choose light brown and beige tones, or rose-coloured shades, but always not saturated and not dusty. This way, it will be easier to make your walls always up-to-date and easy to contextualise.

FIFTH RULE: WARMING THROUGH LIGHTS AND MATERIALS

The latest trends prefer cold or natural light because it makes interiors luminous and neutral. But if we want to make our interiors warmer, we must warm lights, too. Replacing the bulbs with warmer ones (2700 K) is a simple and efficient way to make your living space more comfortable. Another trick to give a warm touch to your room is using natural elements in it: wooden objects, raffia vases and golden finishing. This way, the mix will be perfect!

In conclusion, I recommend to always use a limited number of colours and to play with contrasts. For example, by mixing beige, orange and bottle green you will have an Autumn effect which will give your house an unexpected warm, cosy atmosphere!
